Privacy Policy

Hierolyte is built with privacy as a core principle. Here's the short version: your data stays on your device.

What Hierolyte collects

Nothing. Hierolyte does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. There are no analytics, no tracking pixels, no third-party SDKs, and no server-side components.

Data storage

Your learning progress, streak data, review history, and course progress are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. If you use iCloud, your data may sync across your personal Apple devices via your own iCloud account. We have no access to this data.

In-app purchases

Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store any payment information. Purchase records (such as which courses you've unlocked) are managed by Apple's StoreKit framework on your device.

Third-party services

Hierolyte does not use any third-party services. All glyph data, articles, and course content are bundled with the app. No network requests are made during normal use.

Notifications

Hierolyte can send optional daily reminder notifications. These are generated entirely on your device using Apple's local notification system. No push notification servers are used.

Children's privacy

Hierolyte does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Since Hierolyte collects no data from anyone, this is inherently satisfied.

Data retention and deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, deleting the Hierolyte app removes all your data permanently. There is nothing to delete on our end because we never had it.

Your rights

Under GDPR, UK GDPR, and similar regulations, you have the right to access, correct, and delete your personal data. Since Hierolyte stores no data externally, these rights are automatically satisfied. All your data is under your control on your device at all times.

This website

hierolyte.app hosts a contact form. If you use it, the details you submit (name, email, message) are emailed to the developer so your message can be answered, and are not used for anything else. The website sets no advertising or analytics cookies.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. Since Hierolyte collects no data, we don't anticipate changes.
